I enjoy pouring through these forums and reading interesting stories of peoples days gone by. I would like to hear about peoples absolute favorite memories involving model T's, or just memories they are fond of in general. Be it what they remember from childhood, or from model t tours, working on the model t, or hanging out with friends. It doesn't have to be those specifically. I just figure it would be a good post for people to enjoy feel good stories.

It's a nice idea for a thread.
I was fortunate enough to have the old car bug and several like minded friends 58 years ago. We enjoyed clowning around and made a movie the day after this was taken. How wonderful to have kept those thoughts since then and have those great guys still around.

Ah youth ! And innocence. 
That was a fun Labor Day weekend. As I recall, the above photo and a couple of other "staged" efforts inspired the notion of making a movie. My recollection is that the script, acting and cinematography were all "genius" and deserving of several academy awards - if only the ending scene hadn't been double-exposed !!
I'm a pathetic archivist, and mighty thankful Rich E. is a careful one. I certainly enjoy his views of our past adventures. Thank you, Rich ! You made my day !!

Sounds like nitpicking. I'd be interested in seeing it. (Steve, there are several Dutch terms equivalent to "nitpicking." One is "muggeziften" (sieving mosquitos) and the other more colorful one is not appropriate for a general audience.)

If it is improper to call it a Depot Hack, then it would also be improper to call a Station Wagon, but a Wagon for Stations. Or a Utility Vehicle for Suburbs.

In the 8th grade, we had a very strict English teacher. She gave an assignment requiring students to write a short story about some recent event in their lives. One kid wrote about the family's new car, which happened to be a four door Chevy II. Mrs. Spratt corrected "Chevy II" to "Chevrolet II".

In the 70s we took part in cross-country events with these two Ts. We competed with Model As and 20s Chevrolets but were not too successful. They were great fun but hard on the cars and drivers.

Terminology confusion - mixing a vehicle's Model designation with an expression, historical or slang, describing a design for an intended purpose.

Speaking of Jitney's and Fond Memories (the subject of this thread) I remember the first time I attended the "Holiday Excursion" in LA. The Jitney shown above was there and driving it was Ward Kimball. Ward worked for Art Disney on many projects.
When the HCCA folks heard a young member from Idaho was there they invited me to the excursion and pot luck afterward. I couldn't believe their hospitality. Cars folks have always been so great.

There is an article in the Vintage Ford Vol. 27 No.5 Sept-Oct 1992 by Dorman Ford titled A Hack for Depots. He writes "You can 'Hack it!' Build a depot hack." He refers to them as depot hacks through out the article. The only mention of "Hack for Depots" is in the title.
It's a nice article with photos of Dorman and his Hack.
My apologies from straying further from the "fond memories" of this thread. Maybe back issues are fond memories.

I checked but I didn't end up finding that issue after sorting through the mountain of magazines.
