Refreshing an old top

Post by Robert Bente » Tue Jun 14, 2022 9:55 pm

I thought I would share how I’m going to refresh my top.
I bought this awhile ago and the top had a broken bow. The top fabric looked good, the side pillows ware torn and frayed.
I’m going to replace the side pillows and rewrap the front 2 bows.
Is anyone interested in the process of how I do it?

Always good to see an alternative method of replacing a top.

Another picture, I’ll have my daughter hand stitch the new pillows and rewrap the the bows.
If anyone has an extra metal band that attaches the top to the back seat, I’m a buyer.

Those side pillows are the top pads, they get installed on the top bows one layer at a time, then get hand stitched.
