"The car was barn find and driven as it was for a few miles.
Than there was some noice the car lost traction and the brake failed".

Here is what I found.

Next step will be the rear axle inspection but I think it will be no better.

babbit washers failed on either side of the ring gear causing the ring gear and pinion to go half mesh which stripped things.
