TT Overloads?

Post by BUSHMIKE » Mon Jan 23, 2023 8:21 am

Has anyone seen these before? Unfortunately we cant see the rear pad or shackle. I have to wonder if its a legit aftermarket kit or homemade.

That looks like a serious aftermarket quality mounting bracket, not homemade. The idea must turn your TT into a TTT.

Or it could be a frame mount for a “normal” rear spring?

I think they could be springs from a late teens Chevy mounted th the frame. Like a model 490 .

Those would be ideal on a bus.

I agree it looks factory made. If it had been used on more TT's perhaps fewer of them today would have broken upper spring leaves from overloading. I bet there are a lot more broken upper leaves than we know, because you don't see them unless you take the spring out of the frame.

Now that would make a nice talking point on your TT.
Go for it! I would seriously try to outbid you if I was in the USA :-)
