Can anyone recommend an affordable setup enabling one to professionally electroplate plate small items himself? Thank you. Jim Patrick

What type of plating? If it's nickel, you tube has a number of videos. It's very simple, and very cheap. Hardware store items

YouTube does indeed have some very good videos and instruction...I'll add that Caswell is pretty much the go-to place for do-it-yerselfers

Jim,

Check this out. I have never before seen such a user friendly, easy to understand technique. I will state however that I have not yet tried it.

I second Scott Congers endorsement of Caswell Plating. I have their setup for zinc for doing early fasteners, and it works wonderfully and gives a perfect looking product. It isn't silver cadmium, but it's as close as you can get nowdays.

I’ve set up for small scale copper and nickel using vinegar. This works for hardware sized parts, stronger acids are said to work better on larger parts…
