Timing Gear Cover Alignment Tool dimension needed...

Post by BRENT in 10-uh-C » Tue Aug 01, 2023 11:29 am

I have a couple of the smaller Timing Gear Cover alignment tools that pilots off of the seal area around the camshaft. I am needing an accurate dimension of the boss where Commutator/Timer pilots into. The issue I have at the moment is I am trying to get a vehicle ready for use this Saturday and I do not have an extra seal, and getting one ordered and shipped puts me too close to the time it needs to leave. Additionally I am afraid to try to remove this seal for fear of damage, ...and with it installed I cannot use either of my alignment tools because the seal is where the alignment tool needs to pilot.

Therefore, if I knew the correct ID of the Timer area, I can machine a larger ring that has the same ID bore as the OD of the smaller tool, and will pilot in the Timer area. Can anyone help me with that dimension please??

For those that don't click.
JT said then: "The inside diameter is 9/16" and the outside is 3.000"
I'll admit I have not checked mine from TTP. Yet.
Since I lost my mind mind, I feel more liberated
