Rear seat back support questions

Post by RRmp108 » Mon Nov 20, 2023 11:56 am

Hello,
I’m getting ready to put the wood in the back seat of my touring car and I had a few questions if someone can help me with. In some of the pictures of back seats of later 2x cars the back rest support board are large blocks of wood under the support boards between them and the body. Are they for supporting metal body if the car is being pushed or is it to help support the seat back if it being stressed by weight?

Thanks Tom,

(I did not have any pictures, so I borrow this one TY forum)

The blocks you’re showing behind the back seat wood are someone’s add ons. I don’t think that Ford used those. But if choose to add them or not don’t push on the back seat body metal!
The back seat panel isn’t meant to be pushed on! Maybe an idea to better support on the inside but that would be it. Others will have opinions.

If you look closely in the parts book photos, that piece of wood is there from the factory. But, there’s only one. In the center.
