Wheel bolts, nuts and loose lugs

Post by Allan » Sun Sep 01, 2024 3:48 am

I learned something today. Among the assorted wheel bolts and loose lugs I have accumulated over the years, there have been a few longer bolts and a few U shaped loose lugs which were wider than the usual ones on our Canadian sourced Kelsey loose lug wheels. Parked next to me today at an old car event was a Dodge with 21" split rim wheels with the two holes either side of the split just like Canadian 26-7 T rims, but without the fixed lugs. The felloes on the wheels were deeper than our T wheels, so the U shaped loose lugs had a wider spread on the feet of the lugs. The bolts were longer too, but they used the same nuts as the T ones with the squared off flange simulating a washer, just like our T nuts.
