Need some help Identifying this Ford Puller
Tried to search the numbers alas no go on the search.

I would expect a T era shop tool to be marked with a 3Z or 5Z number.

It's a different style than the one shown in the repair manual, but maybe it's a generator gear puller.

Going by the finger size, looks too small for wire wheel puller or the generator gear.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Brent is right, Model A rear hub puller, 1929 and later. The earlier 1928 rear hubs need a different puller.

The puller shown by John in his original post and the one shown above are the puller for the late 1929 till end of production (and later) rear hubs with the recessed ring. The 1928 and early-1929 rear hubs had a protruding ring and need a different puller.

I would expect a rear wire wheel hub puller to have a longer engagement bolt. This one appears well short of coming out of the tool, and there is little thread left to make engagement. Puzzling!

I’ve used this puller on my son’s Model A. The bolt is retracted so the stub of the axle can fit inside the pocket. The puller is then dropped over the groove and the bolt is tightened to contact the axle. Snyder’s and others sell this puller and the ‘28 version.
There is a more robust clamshell version of this puller that has a steel sleeve holding the two puller halves together. That version fits the ‘29-‘48 rear drums.
Assuming this bad weather passes soon, I will try to come up with photos.

Here is a side by side comparison. 1928 is on the left
Here is the ‘28 puller on the hub. There is a small amount of clearance for the axle stub so the bolt must be retracted when using this puller.
