Don't shrink your picture

Post by Steve Jelf » Fri Jun 28, 2019 11:51 am

An unfortunate feature of the old forum was the small size limit on picture files. This new format has a limit too, but it's so high that I almost never have to resize. My request is for everybody posting pictures to do it full size.

This picture is resized to conform with the old size limit. When you click on it you'll see it in the center of the screen surrounded by a sea of black.

Here's the same photo not shrunk. Click on it and see the difference.

There's no reason to shrink most picture files anymore. Let's take advantage of that for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Under the old regime some folks got around the resizng requirement with the unfortunate practice of setting their cameras to take low quality pictures. If your camera is still set that way, you can reset it to take high resolution photos and still post them without resizing.
The inevitable often happens.
