Yesterday 12/12, Ignacio Valdes started a post entitled "Drilling Steel?". Ignacio eventually solved his problem of difficulty in drilling steel, apparently by purchase of what was obviously a very high quality set of "Milwaukee" drill bits. Within that same post, Stan Howe posted what i consider s...

Generally a "higher pitched" knock under deceleration is a rod knock, that or maybe a piston pin knock... Main knocks are deeper, you can not only hear them but feel them. Piston slap is a different sound (takka takka takka)...
Probably not piston slap then.

Engine knock during Deceleration.

I have an engine knock during light deceleration that only occurs when there is no "load" on the engine. When the engine is slowing down the car the knock goes away and is never there during acceleration. I tried removing shims from the rod caps and although one cap "seemed" loose apparently it was ...

Got a knock when I decelerate so decided to take out some shims. Unable to narrow down which rod was knocking. Got shims removed on #'s 1 and 4 and had a hell of a time getting a cotter key in the 2nd rod cap hex head on #4. Finally got the nut tight enough to reveal the cotter key hole. After remov...

A decent 1926 roadster pickup just sold for $21,175 on an online auction in Wi. Wood wheels, no options, older restoration. Whoda thunk it. We might have a goldmine.
Your headline caught me... Model T prices and part prices are definitely on the rise.

Do you have a muffler? Check every orifice in the engine compartment and under cab that a mouse could fit into. Mice are pretty small and one could have crawled in someplace and died. Jim Patrick

Car Stinks!

Every time the T stops at a lite there is a horrible odor coming (I think) from the engine compartment. Can't smell it as I go down the road but I'm sure it is still there.

Any guesses as to what it might be??

I don't have inside knowledge, but my understanding is that it (the MTFCA tour) is still on. If what I've heard is correct, the hotel plans to be open and has made accommodations to the club that make the situation workable, at least at this time.
Thanks Tom.
