Re: U & J carburetor and manifold

tudor c.jpg
Here is one of Stan's U & J carbs with a straight down manifold on a generator equipped car.
The generator was rebuilt by Ron Patterson and has a sealed bearing so the oiler is not necessary. I plugged the hole with a screw which leaves about 1/8th inch clearance.

Current events reminded of this OT post from 2013

The usual suspects were complaining about the April fools day posts (IIRC) so I posted this.

C 1.jpg We recently changed the clutch in our museum's 1913 Empire. C 3.jpg It is a wet, cork clutch similar to the ones used by Hudson. Fortunately there are 2 knowledgeable Hudson owners available to give us advice. 10-17-2018.jpg This is one museum car that is kept in running condition and does ...

I have posted this 1908 photo before. My maternal grandfather is at the wheel of the car on the left.

Is this an early Locomobile or something else?
These unlabeled photos were among my grandfather's belongings.

Re: HACKERS... again

I caught it at 4AM today and got everything back. Last thing I want to have is a bunch of cranky, crusty, old retired dudes sitting down to their fresh-brewed coffee and not able to get in to their favorite porn... errr Forum site.
I resemble that remark!

Thank you again for your efforts

Re: Why Do You Do it ?

In Pennsylvania one of the restrictions of having antique license plates on a truck is that you cannot use it to haul anything.
A display of old junk that you take to a car show would probably be OK but a load of lumber might get you pulled over.

I believe dehumidifier water is as good as distilled water for this and it is free.

Vintage Stan Howe

The archived forums only go back to 2005.
This is from 2004 and is (with his blessing) Stan's attempt to educate the non-cowboys/farmers on the forum.
First post.

Re: Wood stove

Raoul, I buy my coal in 40 lb. bags from an Amish gentleman who lives about 10 miles away. It comes from a town 60 miles northeast of Hershey.
Anthracite (hard coal) burns clean. No smoke, no soot, no smell.

Re: Wood stove

About 6 or 7 years ago I got tired of cutting firewood so I replaced the wood stove in my basement with one that burns anthracite coal. It's a lot less work.
