21 inch demountables?
I am looking at a 25 T coupe for myself and i happened to notice that it had 21 inch tires like a 26 27 wire wheel but it's a demountable rim on a wood wheel. i know it might seem like a stupid question but most wood wheels i've seen on T's were 23 or 24 inch wheels. was this a later wheel used on l...

Re: stuck valves
I would like to recommend for the valves any good penetrant and maybe a little touch from the torch to loosen them up. i'd go torch then penetrant. i used this method on a stuck A exhaust valve and it works well. just don't melt it. a little heat in the valve guide will work wonders in getting it lo...

It's definitely solid, it does have a few bugaboos to work out mechanically like an extremely worn hand lever ratchet and pawl leading to some entertaining scenarios to put it nicely, but we got new ones on the way. once the money starts rolling in from selling the pnuts he's going to really to a n...

What do Y'all think of this T?
Good morning y'all got a good one for you. I'm currently helping a friend with a T he just bought. it's titled as a 23 but the engine is a 4 dip 25 motor based on what I'm seeing. he bought it since he has a boiled pnut business and wanted a vehicle to not only sell pnuts out of but as essentially a...

Re: specific question regarding turtle decks on roadsters vs coupes.
another problem with the TT is since we live in Charleston SC and he occasionally does deliveries down town he needs a vehicle small enough to get into the narrow streets so a standard t chassis based truck is best.

Re: specific question regarding turtle decks on roadsters vs coupes.
the exact truck he wants is a c cab T truck with an express bed. the tricky part though is neither one of us want to chop or destroy anything original. i had the thought that the coupe body might have a removable turtle deck since it resembles the roadster deck. also being he is going to use this tr...

Re: specific question regarding turtle decks on roadsters vs coupes.
i like i like, it reminds me of my A pickup. the idea is since he want's a T and he want's a pickup, best to combine the 2 together. as far as the bodystyle goes we are mainly focused on the roadster and the standard pickup. we even found a 23 that had a wooden touring body someone made in the 50's ...

specific question regarding turtle decks on roadsters vs coupes.
Ok y'all got a left field one for you. I got a friend who is looking for a T pickup for his peanut business. we are both owners of A's but he has always wanted a T and since the pickups are just roadsters with the turtle decks taken off i had an idea, are the coupes and roadster turtle decks the sam...

Re: California zero emission zones
I run my Model A on anything I can dump in the tank, T's will do the same. My A loves used motor oil at about 1/2 oz per gallon. runs great on it, old two stroke gas, anything. I make my own liquid fuel from yard debris and wood using a wood gasifier connected to a distillation system. it takes the ...

That's the great thing about the depot hack is that it can be essentially a one of one. I have a friend who owns an A doodlebug who owns a glass company. I will be going through him for all my glass needs. My specs are that the body has to be a bit longer than most other hacks mainly because I'll be...

Re: Band linings again
I hate to be the devil's advocate, but why not just use wood or cotton? or even use a different type of lining for the different functions? like Kevlar or wood for the low and reverse and cotton for the brake? my thinking is that cotton wouldn't heat up as much and would be gentler on the drum. Kevl...

Re: Very slow cranking
It does, 1/4 turn of the engine and its running. I hand crank my A often since my starter sometimes likes to give me grief. Bendix jammed recently into the ring gear and I had to pull the starter out and crank it to finish my trip into town. main reason for me idling the throttle is to lower the qua...

Re: California zero emission zones
As a 21 year old this makes me mad too. I daily a 31 and am adding a T to my roster. I will never own any car made after 1931, so if they try to take my cars away, they will receive a 12ga slug and a @$$ whoopin' I will proudly daily my cars for the rest of my life and screw the haters.

Re: Who made this body?
you're right, looks very similar, only difference is the one at Hemmings has little side windows that open up. that is a quite desirable feature. I think I might draw up my own design and incorporate multiple design queues from different body makers. one thing mine has to have is removable or foldab...

Re: Who made this body?
Very true, it sure is a unique body in its own right. in the description it said it's a restoration, so it might have been an older body restored. but it might just mean the chassis was restored and the body was custom made. the body is absolutely. perfect.

Who made this body?
Hello all, Cody here, just getting into the T side of things. I started with the Model A with my 31 pickup, now I want to taste the original recipe. I'm rounding up information, parts, books, what have you because I am starting down the path of building a very specific kind of T. I am wanting to bui...

When I handcrank my model a I leave the throttle in the idle position, makes it turn on the crank easily. T's should do the same.
