Trust me Hank, I take good care of my workforce. :D After sliding the bed back which removing 16 bolts to install the flap, its installed. Yoda, I have had my parents here for 3 weeks. Spent time with them instead of bending tin. OCF is two weeks out so it will have to go fenderless but after that it will be priority. I will finish rear flap this evening.

How are those rear fenders coming “Grasshopper”?

In the near future, my dad will be giving me his Craftsman drill press and a Victor torch set. Both of them were bought by his dad right after WW2.

Dad helped cut and hold things in place and this is it.

Its up to me to get it installed now. The last time they were here, dad helped me hold things in place as I started making the runners for the cab mounts.

A sewing machine is a handy tool...if you know how to use one.
Not saying I do, but I can fake it pretty fair.

What's to say, but it is looking great!

I have never really been into parades either. However, sometimes they are fun!

It certainly has been enjoyable watching this TT go together. And now getting it out where you and others can enjoy it. Taking photos as you go is so good and nice for us to see.

Oh-h! It usually takes an incredible racing car to leave me almost speechless. A TT may do it.

Thanks Dave. Maybe not better but it is usable. It will never look better than now because the way its made it gets scratched just moving the many parts. It will make a nice truck for hauling people or just about anything.

Installing more metal bits on the bed. Lots of wood screws here. The metal strips that protect the top boards have 23 little screws in each side. I am short 2 end caps for the hidem on the front of the cab or it would be complete. I have the bed loaded in the trailer and will be painting final coat at my buddys shop tonigh...

Now that the wheels are done I got to work on the final piece for this bed. The tailgate is apart and 2 new boards are made. A couple hours with the blast cabinet and all the metal bits will be ready for primer.

Also today I came to a job that I was not looking forward to because I had never done it before. I asked here a while back about how to rivet the boards to the rear for the tailgate to slide in. No room for a nut and the original bolt was peened into a rivet. Once again the knowledge from the masses...

Don, these rods support the side racks when they are folded out or upright. I think what probably broke is the eye on the end of the rod. It is pretty thin. The rod is 1/2 inch round so pleanty heavy. I think back then without a welder, forging a new one was all that could be done. Unless you ordere...

... that part and how it broke. I have had to straighten many things on this bed from its former life of hard work. I will use this bed as it is a truck but it will have a much easier life now.
