Looking for any newer choices for Brewster green codes for 1909-10. Looked at past threads but checking if anyone has any brand/code. Best John

Have you checked the Encyclopedia? It's not new, but it lists brands and codes.

I know the answer will come down to a consensus of some pretty expensive restorations…however…

I’ll share a little theory that never achieved critical mass or even baseline acceptance in the T community.

Take a look at latest for Pennsylvania Railroad DGLE (Dark Green Locomotive Enamel). It foots the bill for the it’s black except for in sunlight…it too started life as a 5-6 layer varnish system using earth pigments…and people/organizations with lots deeper pockets have figured out how to do it in modern enamels.

Funny PRR was the largest railroad of the time…PRR painted the shell and engineer cabin with the dark green locomotive
enamel…all below the belt line in straight black….hmmmm…an iconic thought of influence?

Thanks Jeff & George. Jeff, yep I looked in different threads and the encyclopedia’s information. I just was wondering if there were any new polymer paints people have tried with success. I’m really not sure what to do on the body as it’s all wood unlike my Pontiac bodied 09 with aluminum skin. So I’m thinking of a water proofing chemical prior to paint or using nothing at all in the way of paint and leaving the body as is.
Anyway this should be fun. I’m sure I’ll be asking more questions down the road. Thanks again

Not sure if it is the same shade as 1909-10, but the Model A people give three choices for Brewster green. The color is a beautiful dark shade.

PPG JM1017 or IM1017 (depending on how the font in the Model A list is interpreted)

I have recently spotted a few new Jeep Wranglers that seem to have, in my opinion, a really nice Brewster Green paint job. They call it "Sarge Green". Check out the offerings at your local Jeep dealer. It's always nice if you can use a modern color code on a current production vehicle.

Chevrolet trucks used Brewster Green through 1947.

I painted this old mill with Model A Brewster Green. It is an absolutely, positively, gorgeous color. It usually shows very dark in all but direct sunlight. Apple green pinstripes.

The mill Richard just posted is really good, a beautiful Brewster green.

The best image of a car finished like this that I know of is the Rev Institute Ford:

https://revsinstitute.org/the-collectio ... t-touring/

I've seen an original 1910 in a collection that is very close to this, but with Brewster green axles and run gear rather than black. The body and axles on that car were striped vermilion (a warm red) but the wheels had no evidence of striping. Can't recall the fenders. The molding on the body was not picked out with black save for the lower sill on the front seat.

I restored the car pictured in slim howards post. It resides in the colliers museum in naples fl. I used the brewster green formula outlined in the mtfci judging guidelines. I had the old ppg codes converted to the modern equivalent. I was pleased with the results. I agree that railroad coach brewster green is the standard for what this color should look like. This car had excellent original paint and striping under a 1960s era repaint. This color was an excellent match to that as well.
