Re: Piston clearance again
I recall David Daigh, a respected rebuilder in N. CA, now retired, told me once he set the clearance at 2 thou. He used Egge pistons. The folks at Egge also told me many years ago to set the clearace at 2 thou.
On the rebuild I am doing now, the Egge pistons installed 40 years ago had 2 to 3 thou clearance. Do these require a closer fit than those sold by Langs and Snyders and formerly Vintage Ford? I see Chaffins currently sells Egge pistons. Is the difference that one is cast the other forged? Insights welcome!
