Accessory intake manifold

I have has a few of this long time ago, anyone have any ideas what this was sold to do? Bob
also, no chamfer on flange

I wonder what that bracket is for? It doesn't have a hole drilled for a pipe or valve in the intake and other than that bracket looks like a standard manifold.

I've never seen one of those. I'd guess it had a small cast iron pot that bolted to it. Put kerosene or gasoline in it and light it and let it burn off, then (maybe) start the car on a cold morning.

Could it be a mounting for a shroud around the exhaust manifold for a cab heat system?

if I remember the mount had a bracket with a glass jar, wish I could find the post it was a factory made intake, Bob

That narrows it. A vacuum intake motor oiling system.

With the pipe fitting boss in the top of manifold and with that mounting on the side of manifold my guess is that it was for water injection. It was a common way for stretching gas mileage in the WW 1 era due to the poor quality of the gas.
