12 volt Model T Voltage Regulator design now working!
I finally have had time to update the voltage regulator design for 12v cars (Its chilly here in Idaho these days).
Its WORKING perfectly on my test bench. NOTE: if anyone needs an 8 volt version, I can create one of those as well.
. .
It turns ON and starts charging at approximately 12v and turns OFF at 14.0v.
Now I just need to build a few circuit boards with 3 new components.
How many folks need these? Let me know so I can build enough of them. I should be ready to ship first week of Jan. They will all have the Ford Script as those are the only tops I currently have.
I'm STILL looking for more Cutout cores.... I cant build more of these w/out the cutout tops. ONLY Model T cores (Not Model A) are useful to me. I now have 2 different regulator base sizes so I can take NuRex cutouts, aftermarket cutouts, or any Model T cutout that has RECTANGULAR notches. They all look like this:
. .
There are now about 100 of the 6volt units I've shipped so far and all seem to be working well.

Good morning Jeff..... Your rebuilt 6 volt generator and six volt regulator are working fine in our ' 26 Runabout. ....... They were installed a few weeks ago, replacing the alternator. ..... And seems to be keeping my red top battery fully charged when checked.

Jeff,
Any idea what the cost will be for the 12V regualtors? My family has 2 Model T's that are 12V and could use two.
Thanks,
David

Same as the 6volt. I'll have both Ford Script $98 (plenty) and no Ford Script $79 versions (approx 5 if them).
I just listed both of these products on my website. I'm out of town for Xmas, but I can ship these the first week of Jan when I'm back.

Re: 12 volt Model T Voltage Regulator design now working!
Its on my list to do. I have to flip the design upside down. No big deal but it does require a new circuit & circuit board design. Now that the holidayz are behind us, I'll be able to hunker down in my warm shop and fiddle over my breadboard to get it workingDave Sullivan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 6:45 pmI too, would like a positive GND regulator, when available. I'm waiting for some blade fuses from Amazon to be delivered and then I will be shipping all the 12v regulator orders I have, probably by this coming Thursday. I had no idea just how many folks wanted this!
