Tribute to Mother

Post by Scott C. » Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:01 am

Today, I had to do the hardest thing that I have ever had to do in my life. We laid my mother to rest. So, here is a small tribute to all of the mothers that are no longer with us.

Lord, I hate to see her go...

No matter how long Mom has been gone, we never stop missing her.

Our prayers are with you, Scott... Mine passed back in 1973 (when I was a kid) and my mom-in-law a decade back, and while it's not as bad now, the ache never really goes away...

My heart goes out to you. Before my dad passed, he told me, "I'll never be far from you." That has been a great comfort to me. I suspect the same will be true in your case, and that mom will never be far from you.

Yes, I doubt the void could ever be filled. Here is another song that my sister requested. I had never heard it before.

Sorry to hear Scott.

You can always talk to her through your heart! Ask me how I know.

Scott,
I feel your pain. Time will ease it but not erase it. My mother has been gone for 43 years, my father for 33....I miss them both. Cherish her memory and remember the example she set for you. May her memory be a blessing....

This time comes for all of us & we're never really prepared. Pop has been gone ten years now but he is still with me helping figure this out. It will get better.

You have my sympathy. My mother died at 99 years old, the day before I turned 64. She knew model t's in great detail. Her father drove them and he repaired them. My father worked in a Ford agency in 1925 then had his own garage until 1941. Unfortunately he died 3 years before I got into model t's.
I wish I could talk to them about a lot of lost history.

Oh, yes! But you don't think of what you should have asked until after they're gone. It's been said that when an old person dies it's like a library burning to the ground.
