Oil lamp. Model T?

Post by jiminbartow » Sun Feb 14, 2021 9:21 pm

Is this oil lamp for a Model T? If so, would it be used as a rear light? Jim Patrick

I would say it is most likely for a bicycle. I don't recall seeing one of those listed as being for a Model T in any of the books.

Not Model T - most likely motorcycle or bicycle.

Thank you. I wasn’t sure if the clamp on the back was for attaching to handlebars or attaching to a nearby rod underneath the car. Jim Patrick

Neverout bicycle and motorcycle lamp but they were also used for other applications.

That particular bracket, which is incomplete, is for mounting on the front fork of a bicycle. Don't know if the bracket is husky or large enough for a motorcycle fork.

Six to the left on the picture below is same lamp with the complete fork bracket (my dad's collection of bike lamps). Click to enlarge photo.
