Interesting spare tire rack made from a touring rear mt. I had a T in Hawaii that had an identical rig.

Yes it does look like a early 23 low cowl.
Wonder what happened to the chassis or did I miss it. This is a genuine barn find I think. Looks like it’s been there a long time.

I missed it! The lower part of the car is covered up. You can just see the headlights. And maybe the engine.

The spare rim carrier is an accessory which was made from what appear to be mainly Ford parts with "special" brackets to mount to the running board - I believe I sold mine to Original Smith a while back.

I don't know of any "early" or "late". It's a 1923.

early 23 can have wood firewall. most low cowl 23's have a steel firewall slant w/s, & 1 man top. f/w is shorter & narrower. at some point, ford sold the small steel f/w as replacement for the wood f/w's. as scarse as you would expect them to be, i have seen quite a few at swapmeets over the years.
I take particular notice. my first t is one of those "rare" 23's, 40 years ago. since then i have seen many. dont seem to actually be that rare.

It's even more complicated. :)

How can you instantly tell the 1923 steel firewall from the 1924-25? 1924-25 has a big wiring hole above the terminal block; 1923 doesn't.
