26/27 bed question

Post by dmdeaton » Mon Mar 29, 2021 10:53 am

Stealing CT’s picture from his for sale thread, what is the purpose of the angled sheet metal pocket on the front of the bed?

I thought the battery sat a little further back.
Thanks

They have the same thing in 1925, but it isn't as deep, and is part of the front panel. The 1926's are a separate piece, and much deeper.

I never like the look of that battery panel angled out so when I repaired the bed on my 26 I replaced the rusted front panel with one for a model A ...which fit great.....the battery can be removed from the under side of car....

Please show us a photo of your battery carrier, that allows battery removable from the right side of car! Sounds like a lot of work to do something wrong!!!
