bending pedals
Is it safe to bend the pedals on a '26-'27 hogshead to fit the floorboard spacing of a 1925 T? Not sure but I think that only the clutch pedal spacing is different, and should I bend them hot or cold?

Bend them hot. It won’t bother them and you can get more accurate bends.

I put a pipe wrench on them and bend them all the time, if they are out I use an anvil and big hammer, they bend easily!

If you rebend a late low pedal to fit your early floor boards, it will end up much taller than the other 2 pedals.(ugleee)
The proper way is to change the clutch & brake pedals to the earlier style.
2nd best is to change (remake) the floorboards.
Pedals bend real easy with 2 pipe or auto wrenches.

That’s a tool that can easily be made. Or as some do use a large pipe wrench or a good sized adjustable crescent wrench.

I bent my pedals out using a torch to better accommodate my 10 1/2 D

Thanks Guys; This is on a '26-'27 rebuilt engine/trans that a guy wants to put into a 1924 car so I don't think he wants to change the floor boards. I guess the next best thing is to change the pedal but that's beyond his capability, so he might end up bending the clutch pedal to fit his boards.

I will agree that you can easily change the floor boards. The 26/27 pedals are just better and safer, unmodified.

Just change the floor boards. Patterns available or just buy new. I’ve done it several times. Much easier than bending pedals and trying to make them look right.

If you use the 26-27 pedals, they will not look correct for your car anyway, so just make a new floorboard for it. To change to the earlier pedals you would need to remove pin where the pedal as attached to the shaft and put in a new pin. That's a lot of work. But it would be better either way than to bend the pedal shaft to fit the floorboard. You can even save the original floorboards in case some time in the future, you change back to the original transmission or pedals.

John Warren’s idea is a great one! With my large feet I have to remove my size 13 shoes to drive my T’s. This is how I learnt
that the pedals get real hot and I need the rubber pads!!
