Gas pump nozzle clip?

Post by KWTownsend » Wed May 26, 2021 3:48 pm

For those of you that live in areas with vapor recovery boot of gas pumps, you'll know what I am talking about.
I filled up one day and the guy handed me his "gas clip" out of his back pocket. It was made out of aluminum and it held back the boot that otherwide needs to be held with your hand while filling the gas tank. Otherwise it will shut off after you put about 2 gallons in...

I know motorcycle guys would appreciate one of these, too.

Anyone know where I can find one, or have dimensions so I can fabricate one?

Thanks,

Keith

That would be especially useful in filling a 26-27 or a Model A.

I already checked with them. They are out of stock until late June...

Should be easy to make
Found this : Nozzle size standard dictates that the delivery nozzles for unleaded fuel shall not exceed 0.85" in diameter while the delivery nozzles for leaded fuel shall not be less than 0.93" in diameter.. However if the bellows are and EVR type ( Enhanced Vapor Recovery) the pad needs rest flat enough to cause a suction.

Fab one from plexiglass or lexan. Can't be that hard to do.
