Hi everyone,
Dad recently dropped off a box of stuff that I'd long forgotten that I had. In it was a switch panel with what I think is a voltage regulator? It's got 3 wires, Bright, Dim and unknown.
Several questions.
1. Is it a volt regulator?
2. Is it worth salvaging?
3. Can they be repaired?
4. What years would it be relevant for?

This is an inductor that is used with MAG headlights on non-starter cars.
I would help keep the bulbs from burning out.

It is worth saving and a member is looking for one. The contact wires can be repaired and then it can be tested. A MTFCA member came up with this
Note the insulated wires are thread underneath the wire core, soldering to the windings easily when pulled through. After soldering seal the joint with Flex Seal or Plasti Dip and rethread as shown. The threading is just to protect the wires from pulling loose

Given that the magneto produces alternating current, placing a diode in series with the headlight feed wire ought to cut the power delivered to the lights. I'd like to see a schematic of the OE device.

A diode will indeed cut the power by half. But, an inductor reduces the power with increasing frequency (i.e. engine revs) which is why it is better suited to this application.

Does anyone know of a commerccial source for the purchase of a Voltage Regulator/Dimmer Resistance Inducer that is compatable for a 1915 T?

The ‘15 Ts did not have a dimmer switch, and therefore no place for the dimming component discussed here. The magneto lights were just on or off, however, they are dimmer at idle and get brighter as the engine RPM increase.
