Looks like the woman is doing all the work. I wonder why she doesn't pose for the picture? Those days it would have been unusual to take a casual picture.

Trying to discover the history of unknown photographs can be fascinating. In the search for identifying clues there is a banner, 'Yakima', across the front windscreen, and the number 569 or similar above the door of the house, which might perhaps be useful.
I read that the Washington State flag was ratified in 1923, the date of the registration plate, maybe that's why the banner? However there's nothing like local knowledge, so perhaps someone could shed some light on why you'd have that stretched across your front windscreen in 1923?
Otherwise to me the picture is redolent of a rural rather than city setting. It also looks as if may be taken inside a property boundary, given the grassed driveway (it doesn't look like a road as such), but would it be normal to have the property number across the door lintel in this way?
