The Best Timer was made in the 1970s, apparently it was a good reproduction by all accounts from old timers who know a lot about old timers.

It looks like a New Day timer. Only the name is different.

And it is still working great. It has been on my 27 roadster for about 40 years. I typically hand crank start it on mag!

Yup. New Day is a dandy timer by any name when correctly made with materials that stand the gaff.

I think the Best timers were made by Gaslight and they were fantastic, we sold hundreds of them with no problem, I think their suppliers lost the molds back in the 70's, great find, Bob

I guess there were a couple of versions, pure Bakelite, brown plastic with zinc screws, and grey hard plastic with zinc screws. Here is a pic of the brown with zinc screws.
