Post by Khill0105 » Tue Mar 09, 2021 9:09 pm

Looking for pictures of the multi lift junior. I’ve searched the forum and have read several posts on the subject but no pictures. If anyone has a set or pictures could you please post them. If you have a set could you please post a picture with a ruler in the picture also.
Thanks everyone Kyle

The late Jerry Hunt reproduced Multi Lifts a while back and sets pop up from time to time. When Riley was originally making his Multi Lifts he was also producing a head to be used with them.

I installed a NOS set in my 14. Used a reground cam with .230 lift with model A cam durations. (seemed like the perfect cam), New stainless valves & stock springs. VERY DISAPPOINTING RESULTS.
At first it ran well. not a world beater, but well.
with in a year, it started running on 3 & back popping thru the carb. determined #4 exhaust was barely opening.
When i opened the valve covers for a look, i couldnt believe the mess.
One upper pivot pin was shattererd, 2 were in place broke, 4 of the valve stems had a 3/4"radius worn away a good 1/4"+ up the stem where upper lift arms contacted.
EVERYTHING WENT WRONG.
Any body running these things successfully?
What could i have done so wrong?

A question that is related to the double spark head. I finally got one after a looong quest. What spark plugs are best suited for these heads ? As to the lifters, I wonder if it is a challenge to get the bases locked down good and tight so that they do not move ?

I have a set of new reproduction multi lifts. I am thinking about installing them just on the intake valves. I know some people that have run them quite successfully

The device for holding the multilifts in place and lubrication seems to be the big issue. The very colorfull pictures show a beefed up version as for this picture. Running a line from the hogshead or drip oilers may solve the lubrication issue

I have also heard mention of a device to hold the framework centered in place over the tappet bosses.
