Eric thanks for making the newspaper available... But.. if you don't subscribe to the newspaper you don't get the article.

You should be able to access the article online without a subscription. The first time you pull up the article you may get a small green and white box that says login with email or Facebook. You can ignore the box by not clicking on it. Click anywhere on the page except that box and the article should appear.

I'm not a current subscriber and I have no problem accessing this and other articles. The StarTribune allows a certain number of "free reads" per month. But, if you clear the cookies on your browser when the limit is reached and a large box with a subscription message appears, you can have unlimited reads.

If other people have problems with the link, let me know and I will delete the thread.

Cool! Thanks for this! Sounds like a detour off of I-94 is due on our next trip through.

I have enjoyed Darel since his ads in Hemming's when it was pamphlet sized. His posts here on the Forum make me smile every time.
It's a nice writeup and their longevity gives me inspiration. Not to mention that wonderful 1910 Touring car.
When did I do that?

If you have not visited the shop in person
then you are missing a real treat 👍

If you are logged into Facebook then
You can view a video tour of the store

Nice article about them, thanks for posting. Remember them and their store very well. I used to live just down the road from them in Orono. Wonder if he still keeps his A and T in his backyard?

How wonderful!
Nice article. We'll be sure to stop by if we are ever in the neighborhood.
And I learned that Leipold is with a long I. In my head it had a long E.

Congratulations!

The Model T is no longer on a trailer (well cover). It is in the gararge and in a nice area. The Model A roadster is well covered and stored in the yard. My large two story garage was too full of car parts and antiques for a while. I have now made room for the 1910 and plan on making room for the 1931 standard roadster. I use the roadster in the summer for rides around the lake and it is handy stored in the road side area. The lake side area is for gardens and such.

I have got a lot of local reaction to the nice article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. A very nice tribute to us and our store. We plan on being here for a few more years. If and when we decide to close out, It will take a lot of work, with help to sort out and sell or donate our stock and collections.. We have a good collection of Lake Minnetonka items and a good number of Twin City items. Also historic Minnesota items. Most of these items will go to local historical societies. Some will be sold, as many historical societies already have large collections. Our historical Ford litature will be parted out to club libraries if needed. Some will be sold when I decide what goes where. It will be fun and interesting to distribute our collections. Of course, some will be sold. I know that there are out better and more expansive collections, but what we have is fun and interesting. As time rolls on, I will let others know what we do and plan. One does not let go of a lifetime accumulation easely. I am in no real hurry, but I realize that time is rolling on (a bit too fast).
