Post by fordrelic » Sat Jan 01, 2022 10:58 am

I would like to have listing of lights used on model T's.
Has a complete list been published for reference?
I would like to know of Brand and model numbers and what years used.

Thanks for your help,

That information already exists in the MTFCA encyclopedia, old version, with pictures.

There are 2 versions of the MTFCA encyclopedia.
The old version is easier to follow https://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/I-O.htm#lamps
The listing on the new version is harder to locate its on this link and you need to scroll down to the items under "L" for "Lamps"

Both online versions of the Encyclopedia are truncated editions of the full thing. For example, the online versions list serial numbers by month. The full Encyclopedia lists them by day. I call it the best fifty bucks you can spend on Model T "parts". It comes with extras that include Ford Methods and Shops, the Service Manual, owners' operating manuals for every year, a comprehensive parts catalogue, 1903-1908 Models A through S, and more.

The information can also be found in the Judging Guidelines available from the MTFCI. They'll tell you what is correct for each year's model.

1946 Aeronca Champ
1952 Willys M38a1 Jeep (sold 2023)
1953 Ford Jubilee Tractor

Unless it is in the judging guide lines; "Style/maker" information can be found. If you are looking for actual "detailed" difference information, for example; on lamps made between say 1915 and 1926, maybe not so much, the information is more general.
Is there more information in the Judging guide lines, for example; 1915-1926 fonts: What dates on the bottom are correct for a given year, Flat or indented bottom, then say the printed books or thumb drive/DVD?
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

The MTFCI judging guidelines give textual descriptions for each model year of the more common, later-used lamps. They also have two pages with 23 photos illustrating the lamps used from the beginning thru 1912 along with info on the stampings on the lamps. For example, In the text of the guidelines, for 1912 Sidelamps it says: "Jno Brown Model 100 and E&J Patent 1908 - polished brass."
