What holds the das to the cowl

Post by Tmooreheadf » Tue Apr 05, 2022 2:46 pm

A friend is trying to remove the dash from the cowl and says he can't get it apart on a 24. I did not know how but knew someone here would. Any ideas about how to separate would be appreciated. It appears to have an edge crimp, similar to HVAC duct work joint?

You will at least need to open the top windshield glass, slide the lower one up and remove the screws that attach the windshield stanchions to the dash. It may be necessary to remove the windshield completely to get the dash out.

I believe the two inside screws on each side should be enough. If your steering column is attached, then undo it too. When installing the lower windshield frame, be sure to put in a new rubber gasket and make sure it matches the original. Some of the repops will not work.

Thanks for the responses. After hearing and cooling and lube, several times, it finally came apart.
