Re: Rajo head
Post a photo if you can - they have several different port configurations - 4 valve is just that - 4 valves in the head & uses the stock exhaust valves in the block - 8 valve is 8 valves in the head.

Re: Rajo head
If it weighs 80+ pounds... it’s an 8 valve. Pictures obviously will help, but a simple count of ports and note what side of the head they’re on will yield a solid answer. Also measure the combustion chamber depth and count the spark plugs while yur in there

Re: Rajo head
I found some photos. The top 2 show the difference between the 8 and 4 valves. The 2 at left were called Model Cs but I don't think both are. Someone will be able to tell you more.

This thread has some good info including the last post by Mark Chaffin describing different models.http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/41 ... 1408509225
When did I do that?

Re: Rajo head
NLNB, New London to New Brighton car run. America's version of the London to Brighton car run in England. Only cars built 1908 and earlier are allowed to participate. Wednesday to Friday are practice runs, and you can purchase lunch and dinner in advance. The Saturday run is 120 miles from New London to New Brighton. Rob likes to be first in the big K.

Re: Rajo head
If all the ports are on the same side, it's not a B or BB.

Re: Rajo head
It seems to be a model 30. I am probably wrong that the manifold is an all in one. Will check this evening.

Re: Rajo head
The later Rajo Model 30 manifold is all in one, four exhaust and one intake port on the right side. The above Model 30 picture from early Rajo advertising shows a early type head with a different manifold .

Re: Rajo head
It is a model 30. The manifold is similar to the illustrated one, but the intake manifold (Atached) is plain. I will post some photos.

Re: Rajo head
The model 30 is the lower performance end of the 8 valve Rajo lineup. They were commonly used on trucks, often called the commercial Rajo. While not as fast as the hotter heads, it will definitely boost performance and look just as cool on a model T as the others.

Re: Rajo head
Here are some photos. The head is in better condition that the photos show. the chambers are clean, the manifold is rusty, bt should clean up. I have the rest of the parts in a box (no rust on them). I have had this head for 60 years. I amy sell it, but I want to determine value. If I did sell i t, I would use the $$ for a new set of wheels for my 1910 touring. I have the correct hubs.

Re: Rajo head
Up on the shelf I have one of these that was modified. The cross over intake lump opposite the manifolds side has been machined for 2 carb mounts on either side of it. Quite the butchery of an original head, but sure to increase the head's performance. Smart thinking to bring the performance up on a commercial head.

Re: Rajo head
Wonderful nice day at Elsworth swap meet. Good sized crowd of friendly people. Sold lots of nice items. Good early Ford parts are not common at general swap meets any more. I brought nice items, so they sold well.

Re: Rajo head
I plan on putting it up for sale. I would rather have it picked up than ship. Is any one interested?
