Location of speedometer cable strap.

Does anyone have suggestions and hopefully photos of where and how they attached speedometer cable support straps?
I know Model Ts did not come with straps, but the repros need the support.
The repro cable housings stretch and cause the sliding clutch to disengage. I'm hoping a strap will solve the problem.

Richard, the heavy cable assembly with the Corbin speedo in my Duncan and Fraser roadster needed support, as well as kept away from the front radius rod to smooth out the curve. I used a 3" long piece of copper tubing for the spacer. A black zip tie goes around the cable and the radius rod, and through the tubing to keep it spaced. It looks neat and works a treat. You could use period correct copper wire if cable ties are in your hate basket.

I copied a little wire buckle from an old one on Kim Dobbins car. It's only about I" square, and hangs from a engine splash pan bolt. From that I have a short leather strap. It's been on my cars for many years.
