Condolences to Our Commonwealth.....

...friends in England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Queen Elizabeth was truly a remarkable Sovereign and beacon of civility in a troubled world.

She was a definite anchor to the country even though she didn’t run the country.

What happens in the next few years will be very important to the balance of the rest of the world in the direction of Great Britain.

A real leader... dignified, principled, and tactful, yet honest; not afraid to condemn bad behavior, when warranted, whether that behavior was within the royal family or outside of it. She managed to keep her head, and keep her feet on the ground, while living at the center of an Alice's Wonderland. I hope Charles rises to the challenges he is facing. It may be "good to be king", but it isn't easy. It's driven many persons to madness.

It had to happen, as so many things do. However, so very sad. Truly the end of an era.
rarely in this world does the "right person" fall into the right place in the world. But if anybody was that "right person"? Queen Elizabeth was the right person. Few people in the world had such strength AND grace!
Rest In Peace.

Remember the King is up in years too. He won’t be King as long as Elizabeth was Queen.

Sad to see her go. I remember her coronation after the death of her father. She was a great lady. We in Canada were not "ruled" by the Royal Family but, at least in our part of the country that has many families of English/Scottish/Irish background, and lived through WWII, we always had great respect for the Royal Family. In spite of some troubled times, they were always a symbol of stability and civility. Long live the Monarchy!

Thank you guys, while the Queen was our head of state, she did not 'rule' New Zealand. Now it looks like we have a King, albeit another figurehead.

The Bible is so true when it says how we are known by our deeds, and the Queen is well loved and respected from her conduct over the last 70 years (and even before she was crowned).

Princess Elizabeth, a second subaltern of the Auxiliary Territorial Service, trains as a mechanic in southern England, April 1945.

She was quite wealthy. So are the Kardashians, the drug/human smuggling "lords", and Kim Jong Un. So are most members of the U.S. Congress. Unlike the congress, Her Majesty never took so much as a penny from me.
