Steering bracket

Post by fordt » Mon Sep 12, 2022 7:54 pm

Quick question, this steering bracket should only have one bushing in it….on the opposite side of this shaft opening….right? And this is just a test fit, don’t give me grief about color/finish!🤪

Yes, you are correct. One bushing installed from the bottom.

The early brackets had a long one piece bushing. The later ones had two short bushings. Don't forget the felt.

26-27…..Frankencar here had a different one, but the previous owners must’ve used smaller bolts to make it fit cuz the holes in the frame didn’t quite match up, the other one had the protrusion for the felt washer on the top end. This one fits correctly, at least frame hole wise….I’ll have to ream a bushing for it….don’t see a place for felt on this one!
Thanks!
