Found!-Stromberg Type B Carb
Looking for a usable Stromberg Type B updraft
No need for a fancy, polished carb, going on an old original.

Re: WTB-Stromberg Type B Carb
I see lots of them on EBay, but I’d hate to pay all that money for one that could possibly be a junker or need parts…
I trust “T” people more, anyone work with these old brass updrafts?

The B series comes in at least 5 sizes. Which are you looking for?
Your illustration shows a B-4.

Re: WTB-Stromberg Type B Carb
Mr. Butler,
Size doesn't matter, I could probably make it work.
Mr. Martin, I like that carb, but I'd hate to buy it and it need something, though I may get desperate.

Re: WTB-Stromberg Type B Carb
If you are intent on purchasing one, at least measure the intake manifold opening diameter, and purchase the size "B" that you really want.
A "B-3" is 1" throat and is probably the one you want (Edited for correction)
"B" series Stromberg's were generally from 1909-13, so I imagine your car is pretty early.

Re: WTB-Stromberg Type B Carb
The B series have a different sizing than all the other letter series glass bowl Strombergs.
You probably should get a B-3 for the Maxwell. Size does matter!

Tad
now that I stuck my neck out, I erred in my previous post (info was for a "C")
The B comes as a 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 size (from 1" to 2" diameter in 1/4" increments)
I apologize for the error and I am going to correct it through editing so as to not mislead anyone.
Layden, we both were typing at the same time! Though I didn't type fast enough to avoid embarassment!!

Re: WTB-Stromberg Type B Carb
I thank you all greatly for the help, my intake bore is 1 and 1/4 inch, so I’d be looking for a number 4
