wanted - 1925 engine block or complete engine

Post by wmscottsutherland » Fri Nov 18, 2022 10:20 pm

I'm in Cheyenne WY and got a 1925 T with a 19 motor. I would like to make it a 25 again.

Please let me know if you can help.

thanks
Scott Sutherland

If the title VIN number of your 1925 Model T is a 1925 Ford engine number then any useable 1924-1925 T block will work. Unlike earlier Model T blocks there is no casting date or Ford Made In USA on the 1924-1925 T blocks. Of course the 1926-1927 blocks are different again due to the transmission cover to block bosses.

I have a dozen good 25 blocks but the cost to ship it to Cheyenne would be nuts, the block weigh 88 lbs by them selves.

Swapping out the engine may screw up your title? If your title right now matches the numbers on your '19 block, and you put in a "random" '25 block, you have two choices...keep that '25 engine number or "move" the current matching '19 number that's on the title to your newly acquired '25 block.....a bit of a dilemma, as now the '25 block "just became" a '19 block. You may have troubles "re-titling" the car with matching numbers of that '25 block you want. Comprendé?

There is no title at this time so that is not a problem.

Scott, let me check my stash of engines at my shed. I'll need to check the SN's. I'm not that far east of you. MAYBE there's a 25 in the group.

Hi Scott
You may already know but getting a title for a untitled antique car can sometimes turn out to be a hard road!
If and when you do find a 25 numbered block don’t tell the DMV that you changed the engine with another engine. All they need is the basic info! Don’t tell them the story of how you got the car and that your trying to restore it to be more original. Im not trying to be a smart guy but the less you tell them the better off you will be. Good luck with your 25 T project!
