What are the differences between a 15/16 rear fender and a 17-25? Thanks.

Go to Lang's web site, they show all the options of fenders.

Looking at pictures they look similar. I was wondering more about dimensions and do they physically interchange.

Fenders before 1917 are flat from side to side. From 1917 on they are crowned. A depot hack is a home made or aftermarket body, and you will find both kinds of fenders on them, usually depending on the year of the chassis.
The inevitable often happens.

with respect to interchanging: a Depot Hack would sport commercial fenders...nothing that came on a car, be it touring, runabout, coupe, et al, will fit without modification. My dad put together a very nice hack in the 1970's and used modified touring fenders if I am not mistaken. It looks nice, but is not "correct"

Mac's offers these with the hump. '17 and later. (Mac's?)

I bought Rootlieb fenders for my 1917 shooting brake, with the crown in them. They all come sans mounting brackets. I found the fenders were 1/2" narrower than standard, and I had to narrow the pair of original mounting brackets I had found. I have no idea why this is so.

Back in the early 80's I was putting together a hack body to go on a 22 frame. Never finished it because of job and location change. Any way, I knew I needed special fenders and located one at Hershey. I kept looking and found another but when I compared it to the one I had, it was the same side,
(left rear). I kept looking and ran into a guy who had moved his shop into an old shop in a small town. He said I may be interested in some old car parts in the attic. I ran to see what he had and was surprised to find 5 hack fenders. (ALL LEFT SIDE) Now I had all lefts and couldn't find a right.
I search Rootlieb and he didn't make the hack fenders at that time. I took all the left fenders to Hershey and they started to sell quickly. Before I sold out Mr. Rootlieb bought one and then started to make them. I assume he used the new old stock fender as a pattern. The story I heard later was the dealers had extra left fenders because it was not unusual for the driver/owner to damage the right fender backing into the barn because they couldn't see the opening clearly.
