Clutch Pedal question

Post by Bill Robinson » Mon Apr 24, 2023 1:45 pm

I have a 1921 Model T that runs & shifts good. My question is regarding clutch “pedal” adjustment. It has an Improved Jack Rabbit clutch with a good free neutral. I would like to add a bit of distance of pedal travel when shifting from low to the point where high engages. In other words, go from 3/4" to 1 1/4". To do this- do I need to shorten or lengthen the clevis/hook assy?

You can lengthen your adjustable linkage, but be careful to not overdo it. When the pedal is all the way back, (in high gear), the linkage should have NO pressure on it and your clutch pedal should have some free-play.

Jerry- a short 3 minute adjustment and a one mile drive is all it took for me to realize that Jerry knows what he's talking about. I lengthened the clevis 2 full turns, and the linkage was a bit snug, so backed it off 1/2 turn- the linkage was loose and drove it. I like it!
