Looks to me like brand new, likely a reproduction. I have heard that the currently available reproduction battery boxes and lids are smaller than OEM Ford so that a Group 1 battery fits without having to be shimmed underneath and on the sides.

I made my own battery box to the OEM Ford dimensions called out in the second link below and was able to get an OEM Ford lid from Larry Smith (I don't think he has any more).

Since there are two styles of lids, there may be some differences in the boxes them selves. I have one of Larry's boxes & the earlier lid does fit due to the folded corners of the sheet metal. I haven't tried to modify the lid or the box to make the fit. So the repro's may be the earlier style.
