"Who is using the Forum?" Are we taking a sociological survey, now. or just curious? The Forum as everyone knows is a part of the MTFCA website. It is, also, accessible on the world wide internet, and, unless internet is unavailable to a prospective user, either because he doesn't have a computer; the internet is banned in his country; or he has been banned by the MTFCA from the site, he can access it, at will, at any time (assuming it is not down for maintenance).  So, what is the deal?

I have wondered that too. I hope there are a number of potential T owners out there finding interest in the fun. If nothing else, greater appreciation of the hobby is a good thing.
The fact that the Kalamity Dick thread has had 718184 views may suggest that there are a lot of truly odd folks out there.
We will never know.

Down to 47. Guess a lot of people think that you have to be a member of the club to sign up and post? Maybe a lot of people are on Facebook or Fordbarn.

Define “ Using “ …

Statistics can’t be gathered without
specific information provided to base
an analysis on …

That said …

My opinion:

90% +/- of those visiting are not dues
paying members - of the 10%+/- remaining
maybe 5% bother to register - the majority
of those who register seldom or never post.

Mark, its your choice to 'log in' when posting, but it is not necessary. It isn't even necessary to be an MTFCA member.

I am a member and so is KirbyPray. I don't know why we are in dim print and some others are in bold print. I post quite often but have never seen a post by kirby. Some are lookers and others are posters and lookers. This is the real forum. The one on face book is not.

Maybe the question should be “what is the forum being used for”. It’s is hosted by the MTFCA using membership dues. Should we have some more focus on club activities. We have an off topic forum but no place for club and chapter related happenings. Frankly at this point all the “technical” questions would be more effectively answered with a google search.

In your user profile you check off a box stating that you're a member and then your name goes bold. In other words, it's not automatic, you have to "switch" it on yourself.

Tell that to the people who post in both places. Facebook is just as real as this one is (or maybe you are looking at the wrong one, you do know there are more than one Model T Facebook pages?) and reading some so called experts post here, I have to agree with myself, there are crack pots on both sites.

Interesting question many on the forum are just passing through.....
To find the answer to adjusting coils
To adjust a fuel line
To see if they are OK to use a water pump

And some... well... they leave their mark.

Right now there's 49 guests.. and then the "old rule of threes "....... 1/3 just lookers, second third just breezing through website , and the other third are actual members. Maybe someone in the 2/3 would be interested in becoming a member?

Except for bots (like Bing or Google) and guest, you can click on any name shown in who is online and it will take you to their profile.

What difference does it make? The purpose of this forum is to trade interesting information about the Model T Ford!

HI, perhaps I am not your typical visitor or lurker. My main interest is steam, particularly steam cars trucks, traction engines and to a lesser extent rail and marinesteam. I am 72 long retired, have my own machine shop and run my models at many shows. Thanks to the kindness of a few owners I have briefly driven Ford Ts, usually at steam shows. I find them easyto drive, perhaps next even next to a good running steamer in ease of driving and fascinatingly different from most motor cars. I remain in constant admiration at the knowledge of your contributors and their efforts touncover and maintain originality, while in many cases to make minor changes to improve safety nowadays. You all deserve thanks for your devotion to the hobby. I doubt I will ever have the time to own or run a T myself but enjoy your adventures vicariously on an almost daily basis.
Regards to all, David Powell
