Wanted, running board tent bed.
I would like to find a running board tent bed. There were a few different manufactures of them but most are similar to each other. The ones I have seen photos or ads for usually are a light metal framework that folds down into a compact shape that fits on the running board. When erecting the unit it folds out to a bed platform with steel or wood poles that supports the tent that fits over the bed.
Someone on the forum mentioned that they had the framework but no tent. If that person wants to sell the framework. I'm very interested. The tent would be fairly easy to make.
I am also interested in any model T era camping gear. I know that another member also posts looking for vintage camping supplies. Lots of thngs that would interest us he probably already has.
We have been showing our T with our vintage camping supplies at the modern overland camping expos and rendezvous. The response has been very good and we have even picked up a few new folks interested in Model Ts at the events.
Thanks for any help or leads

Stoll and schilling and abc ate three brands that come to mind.
I have one but it took some doing to find it. To be honest - I don’t like it. It’s very heavy and any part of it can stab you or pinch you. It’s also very small. I’m sure they make other sizes though. I set it up on the car using clamps because it requires you to drill holes in the runningboard which I was reluctant to do.
Honestly I think a good umbrella tent is easier to set up and more comfortable to use.
Still I think k you should get a runningboard tent if you can find one.

Re: Wanted, running board tent bed.
Linus, We already have a nice umbrella tent that we actually use. It sets up quick and the canvas part stores nicely in the rear floor board. The tent poles are in a canvas roll and are the exact length of the rear bumper on the 27 touring we use for vintage camping. I mostly want a running board tent bed for the shows and expo displays. The thing I really really want is a four wheel drive conversion for a T.

Helps to know what to look for. 48"wideX78" long not quite as wide as Full size mattress
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Thanks Frank. The photos should help. No luck so far on the tent bed or the 4WD parts.
