I am happy to announce that I just received a Chaffin’s Garage re-ground 270 lift camshaft along with matching cam bearings.
According to Dave, 30 just arrived at the store last week and so now they’re down to 29…. I went back-and-forth between waiting around endlessly for a new Stipe?…. And ended up buying one of these cams from my good friends at Chaffin’s!….. I’ve heard nothing but excellent comments regarding their cams that they slightly advance….. I will purchase a Stipe Cam when they’re finally available, but that’ll be for my next model T….. and I can tell you guys I’ve been bitten bad, so there will be another model T!…lol
Cheers!

Re: Camshaft update!
It is a very good performing cam.
Read the instructions.
I think the cam has to be front thrust-ed.
Previous versions required it.

Re: Camshaft update!
I think they remedied that by cutting the cams to conform to the 26/27 cams….and sell the longer bearing with it

Re: Camshaft update!
That is correct. We recommend the 26/27 cam for regrind and sell only the latest style front cam bearing. We do also offer the earlier style cam but you must also use the thrust pack which is included.

As long as some of the heel is in tact, it will work without needing thrusting.

Re: Camshaft update!
Have run several of the Chaffin 270 cams, excellent touring cam. Have never had an issue with one and would recommend to anyone.
