Straightened a radius rod

Post by Will_Vanderburg » Sun Jul 09, 2023 7:46 pm

Bought a radius rod at Luray. Had a slight bend.

Put it in a vise to straighten it. No dice.

Put my thinking cap on. Took it it outside and put it in the fork of a substantial tree.

Bingo. It’s all about the leverage.

Now that's a genuine "Shade Tree" remedy.

I drive a Model T ... Microseconds don't matter :D

For every Absolute Model T Fact there are at least three exceptions.

I often use the tongue of my car trailer to bend or straighten things. But there is a big black oak tree in my yard that has a convenient fork in the trunk that I have used a few times also.
I usually use a heavy old towel to cushion the tree when I use it so to not harm the tree.
