Interesting Fan Modification

Post by Ed Fuller » Mon Aug 21, 2023 5:11 pm

I was digging through an old Model T parts stash and I came across this fan. It’s always fun to see what people came up with to keep their T’s going!

That is quite an accomplishment. I hope it worked as well as intended.

When did I do that?

Be careful. That might blow the spark plugs right out of the head! 😊

I'm going to wager that "intention" and "reality" never crossed paths with this thing!

what a wonderful piece of Americana!

new member Vincent Ryan who is working on a '13 body is retired turbine mechanic as I recall he said...I'll bet he'd have some idea how fast that puppy would need to turn to move air...

still love it!

It would get in its own way at even very low speeds. Someone needed a radiator....

A better idea might be to run two fans on an extended shaft, one behind the radiator and one in front.

If nothing else, it would discourage T-sitters, as least as long as the engine was running.

How long do you think an original fan pulley would last with "that" hanging out there in front?
