New London to Brighton Iowa tour
We just finished the New London to New Brighton MN tour.
I have never heard of the Iowa tour.
Just wondering if anyone here has gone on this tour for cars built prior to 1928?

I have never been on it but know of some from the Twin Cities Regional Group that have and enjoyed it very much.

We have been on this tour about 9 or 10 times. Great people that put it on and very interesting stops along the way on the pre tours. Need I mention ice cream on several tours and not the great amount of traffic on the NLNB tour, country two lane roads. Saturday they have a flag burning ceremony in the city park in New London, a delicious meal in Brighton and certificate ceremony. We can't make it this year due to Hershey beginning the following Monday. Google "red flag tour"

We went on the tour once. A very good mix of some really nice early cars. Nice roads and good lunches. The only complaint we have is that the tour is done parade style with the slowest car leading the pack.

To answer your question yes, most of the cars are before 1928. I’ve gone for five times and I’ve never been in the slow parade style tour. Always had lots of fun meeting new people.

Would love to come, but I am heading to Copenhagen. I need some Aquavit.

Re: New London to Brighton Iowa tour
Are you talking about Brighton, Iowa and New London which is to the south? When is this tour and what are the details? I am currently visiting my sister and parents in Lone Tree. Might be fun!

Go to www.redflagmotortour.com or FB and look up red flag horseless carriage tour.
It states Mt Pleasant Iowa, as the central host city and tour is New London to Brighton Iowa.

That's very interesting! I live not far away and have never heard of it. Maybe there will be time for me to go Saturday afternoon for a bit and then maybe next year get a car in it.

Re: New London to Brighton Iowa tour
Dave,
Thanks for the information. I think I may head down there at the end of September. My Mom and Dad live in the area they are touring through. When I was down there this week I took my Dad to the Antique Car Museum of Iowa in Coralville. They have a very impressive collection of cars and it is worth the visit. I did miss the deadline for the tour but I will get the information for next year. Thank you for bringing it up, locals there don’t know much about it.
