Carburetor cleaning video with a twist

Post by Gen3AntiqueAuto » Fri Sep 22, 2023 6:51 pm

I'm running experiments on how to clean Model T carb's here for anyone interested. I have one L-4 ready to be re-assembled (on camera of course) and that will be offered up for sale when it's back in one piece. If you're curious about different methods I did a 3 way "race" and compare the results here: https://youtu.be/lWZf0p9M6UE

If you want to help me with this task of passing on restoration and Model T knowledge to the next generation, I could use more subscribers and views. "likes" also help as they prompt youtube to push the videos on a wider audience. When I get to 10,000 subs I will try once again with giveaways. Tried it in the past but there was no interest.

From the videos I’ve seen on Evaporust, it seems to work well on iron and steel. Check out Keith Rucker’s Vintage Machinery YouTube channel.

Is it going to get thru the varnish of a clogged idle circuit?

Use a sand blaster on most parts. NOT the float of course.

I have used an Ulta-Sonic Cleaner from Harbor Freight and Simple Green with good results.

That is on my to-do list - I think they make a sassafras flavored one now!
