They really ARE still out there!!

Lately we have seen a lot of "barn finds" postings that are actually about cars that have been restored, decades ago and have been left in a garage or even a barn, but here's the REAL thing!
This September 1915 touring when found had 1929 CA license plates on it. it was (may still be) in a Barn of a building that was a feed store in a SMALL town in the California Sacramento Valley. We suspect it was there since 1929, but one eyewitness says when he moved into town in 1954 the building was already boarded up and NO one went inside (legitimately at least). The place is plastered with pigeon poop, about 3 to 4 inches deep! Other than the radiator and steering wheel missing, it appears to be all there. Theft, or maybe a WWII scrap drive?? The driver's side front fender is rusted away near the radiator area, as is the top panel of the hood. Can't tell you much more as there was too much poop! The body looks very square still and while I was looking it over, the guy who had "first dibs" came an I was told, "The car is sold!" Oh well, I have a December '15 touring (needing all the body wood done, etc.) so I don't REALLY need another project, but gee whiz. . . . So for $1,500 it is going to a new home, I hope the new owner succeeds in getting a valid title for it--Califunny is getting really particular about those things.

Going in to get a title for my new Buick and am so glad to be far from commiefornia. All I need is bill of sale, sellers DL number, picture of vin, and to sign a statement.

Yes those are the real deal barn finds! It’s great they were still inside of a barn and not left outside! Unfortunately I think there were more “field finds” when I was growing up instead of the barn finds. On a street close to where my Grandfather lived there was a wrecking yard that two 36-37 Packards that were big cars compared to my Grandfathers 24 Coupe that I later inherited. They were rusty but complete left on the back row under some trees. As the years went by they rusted down and got banged up from getting other cars being moved around.
There were other Model T’s left in back fields also “just left” and I remember feeling sad about it. They were close to where I lived in the country. But as this post shows there are a few left inside and just forgot about. But they are getting few and far between! You don’t see Model T bones around like we use to. At least not in this area of central Texas.
