Wanted; Hayes wire wheel hubcaps
I'm in the market for some Hayes wire wheel hubcaps for 30x3-1/2" demountable wheels.
Prefer originals, but would settle for reproductions.
One, two, four... what do you have?
Thanks,
Keith

Many of us are in the same boat. Descent original caps are tough. If you find a source for repops, let us know. thanks.

Re: Wanted; Hayes wire wheel hubcaps
I have reproduced the Hayes cap in cast yellow brass in the past. Several folks who frequent this Forum purchased them from me. They are no simple project, at least from my experience. I am in the process of producing another limited production of 20. I sell them in sets of 4. My foundry will finish them up late this week then I will send them to my old school machinist. I will post an add if I have any surplus but I do not anticipate having them for long. Please do not contact me since I do not have them completed yet and I do not know what I have invested in them. They definitely will not be priced as rediculously as shown in the previous link.

Re: Wanted; Hayes wire wheel hubcaps
The $190 price for repos from Australia is approx US$122. Not as scary as it seems.
They are of exceptional quality, but are red brass rather than yellow brass.

Re: Wanted; Hayes wire wheel hubcaps
Craig, I believe it is the same size as a T . I made a 1/4" thick one for my wheels so there is less chance of damaging the octagon. I would be interested in an original Hayes wrench, or at least a photo of same.

Hi Allan,
This wrench is much larger than that it's 3 1/4" must be for a larger car? Craig.

Re: Wanted; Hayes wire wheel hubcaps
Just for the record, the octagon on the cap is very close to 1 5/8" across the flats.
