Steve Jelf Back at Rehab?

Post by CudaMan » Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:19 am

Steve's Facebook page has this short update as of late yesterday (Thursday):

David Hjortnæs

"Apparently he is no longer in the hospital, so that means he should be back at the Rehab Institute. Will have to call them tomorrow."

No further information at this time.

Steve IS back in the rehab center. They will not tell me the room number nor will they let me speak with the nurse. We will have to wait for a report from family.

How can someone arrange a visit if they won’t tell you the room number or let you speak with the nurse?

Perhaps they're taking it slow on visitors because they don't want Steve to spool up too fast and have another setback.

Today's update from Steve's Facebook page:

Selah Wayseer is with Steve Jelf.

Steve's back at the "highly acclaimed" rehab, but I really have to wonder, sometimes.

Apparently, I have to be re-authorized to speak to staff in his behalf. Nurse even went into his room to ask him if he'd authorize, and he tersely answered, "Why yes! She's my friend!" Then he muttered a few more things. Nurse said she still wasn't sure, so I'll have to wait for confirmation on Monday. 🙁

Jerry then called and he said Steve might be able to lose the NG (feeding) tube if he continues their daily, caloric intake requirement. Today, he did. So fingers crossed.

I've been lost in life's shuffle, lately, with a bad case of vertigo, but I'm getting it sorted, hopefully. At which time I'll be your loyal Steve Jelf updater once again.

Cheers,
Molly

That's why I ask. For a long time now folks have been able to communicate with him and suddenly he gets shuttled around and hid like a easter egg.Kinda odd.And I am willing to bet Steve is getting highly frustrated by now.

Things are looking better. He is now up on the 24th floor (penthouse) and his cousin is visiting with him this weekend. I hope to see her tomorrow and will update all of you then. I will take my laptop with me and see if Steve would like to post a note. I also hope to be able to have Steve add me to his list of contacts for the RN's. He wanted to talk to me on the phone, but got so involved with a movie that he could not take a break from it. That is a very good sign in my eyes. He also wants salt and pepper shakers, so off to Target I go.

Please send him a card.

From some photo's of his traveling diet - he's looking for salt & pepper large size individual shakers
Best to check with the Nurses to see if Iodize salt is okay for him - its good for the immune system but....
